I have had the privilege of being Lead Pastor here at LBC since September 2003. Before that I was pastor in Prince George, BC for 12 years and Markham, Ontario for 10. Kathy and I have been married for more than 40 years, and have four children: Joel (Rose), Erin (Mark), Jared (Katie), and Josh (Courtnay). We are also proud grandparents of seventeen kids: Faith, Paul, Sarah, Silas, Matthew, Lauren, Patience, Anna, Elijah, James, Jenna, John, Timothy, Agnes, Emily, Irene and Elizabeth.
My life goal is to be a growing disciple of Jesus all my life who helps others become growing disciples.
Some of my favorite activities are reading, riding my motorcycle, and bicycling. Kathy and I also really enjoy our grandkids.
I have had the privilege to lead a number of ministries and to develop leaders over the years. From leading the Counsellor in Training program at Camp Qwanoes, to managing Creation Festivals, and leading the youth ministry of LBCYouth, I have been in awe of how God has worked in and through the lives of His people. Through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, God continues to grow and develop leaders to love others and to advance the gospel into our community. I am expectant that God will continue to bring people to new life and build His Kingdom here in South Delta.
My undergrad studies were in the field of Criminology, Law, and Sociology, and my graduate studies were completed at Northwest Baptist Seminaries, Master of Divinity Immerse program. I am honored to be in the role of Assistant Pastor at LBC and know that we will experience the power of the Holy Spirit as we trust Him to lead, guide, and direct us.
I am so excited to see what God has in store in this leg of my journey here at Ladner Baptist Church. I worked previously at Cedar Grove Baptist in Surrey where I started as a Children’s Ministry Intern in 2003. When I left there 9 years later I was the Youth Pastor to a great group of youth. I have my BA in Biblical Studies as well as Psychology as well as a Certificate in the Human Services Program from Trinity Western University.
I married my husband Nathan in October of 2011. In July 2017, we welcomed Josiah into our family. We enjoy sports, playing board games, hanging out with friends, drinking tea and Biblical Studies. In my spare time I have come to enjoy cooking and photography as well. We are excited to serve here in Ladner and get to know the community.
I am passionate about working with young people and families. My heart is to see young people know that God has an awesome plan for their lives even while they are young. I love walking alongside families and seeing Jesus do awesome things in and through them.
Associate Children’s Director
After growing up attending South Delta Baptist, I began attending Ladner Baptist as a High School student in 2013. After completing Camp Qwanoes’ Counselor in Training Program when I was sixteen, I joined the LBCYouth Leader Team as a Student Leader in my Grade 12 year at Delta Secondary School. Upon graduating high school, I was hired on at LBC as Youth Intern. After 3 years as Intern, I was given the opportunity to step into the role of Youth Director.
I spent my first year out of high school at Pacific Life Bible College, before transferring to Kwantlen Polytechnic University where I am nearing the end of my BA in Psychology. In 2017, I became a Reserve Constable with a local police department, which has given me a number of unique experiences.
I am excited to step into this new role overseeing our youth ministry and eager to see what God continues to do in the lives of our students. My passion is to make life-long disciples out of high school students and see them equipped to love, lead, and serve like Jesus.
My family and I made Ladner Baptist Church our home when we emigrated to Canada from Bogota, Colombia in 1999. It has been my privilege to be part of the staff team here since August 2011. My husband Eric and I have two sons – Andrew is married to Liz and they have a daughter, Lucy, and Tim is married to Rebekah, and they have a son, Emmett. I love my job! My favourite part is connecting with great people of all ages. In our spare time, Eric and I like hanging out with friends, going for walks (but only when the weather is nice), watching British TV shows together, and especially spending as much time as we can with our sons, their sweet wives and our grandbabies.
