Jeff Scott

It is a privilege to be leading at LBC with a team of very gifted people in this interim role as the search for a new full-time lead pastor is underway. I am passionate about leadership development, and helping people pursue their calling and purpose.

I lead the Counselor in Training Program at Camp Qwanoes in 2018 and 2019, and have had the privilege of developing leaders through different ministries and programs over the years. I was previously the Festival Manager for Creation Festivals and I led our youth ministry as Youth Director for six years before stepping into this role.

My undergrad studies were in the field of Criminology and Law, and I received a Master of Divinity degree from Northwest Seminaries after completing the Immerse Program on the Lead track. I am currently completing a Doctorate degree in Ministry Leadership at a university in the United States.

I am confident that the community of people here at LBC will continue to live out the vision: Everyone together – belonging, growing, and serving.

Jake Nolan

Youth Director

After growing up attending South Delta Baptist, I began attending Ladner Baptist as a High School student in 2013. After completing Camp Qwanoes’ Counselor in Training Program when I was sixteen, I joined the LBCYouth Leader Team as a Student Leader in my Grade 12 year at Delta Secondary School. Upon graduating high school, I was hired on at LBC as Youth Intern. After 3 years as Intern, I was given the opportunity to step into the role of Youth Director.

I spent my first year out of high school at Pacific Life Bible College, before transferring to Kwantlen Polytechnic University where I am nearing the end of my BA in Psychology.  In 2017, I became a Reserve Constable with a local police department, which has given me a number of unique experiences.

I am excited to step into this new role overseeing our youth ministry and eager to see what God continues to do in the lives of our students.  My passion is to make life-long disciples out of high school students and see them equipped to love, lead, and serve like Jesus.

Judy Leaver

Administrative Director

My family and I made Ladner Baptist Church our home when we emigrated to Canada from Bogota, Colombia in 1999. It has been my privilege to be part of the staff team here since August 2011. My husband Eric and I have two sons – Andrew is married to Liz and they have two daughters, Lucy and Grace, and Tim is married to Rebekah, and they have a son, Emmett and a daughter, Audrey.  I love my job! My favourite part is connecting with great people of all ages. In our spare time, Eric and I like hanging out with friends, going for walks (but only when the weather is nice), watching British TV shows together, and especially spending as much time as we can with our sons, their sweet wives and our grandbabies.

Tracy Naysmith

Children’s Director

I started attending LBC as a child. I was baptized and married at LBC. After university & college I began my career in Nuclear Medicine at BC Children’s Hospital. It was there that God stirred a passion within me to work with children. Andrew & I had our 1st child, Hannah, and then we moved out of BC for 7 years. Our other 4 children were born in Iowa (Caleb), Calgary (Luke & Lydia) and our 5th (Joel) was born back in BC ~ a full circle. We came back to BC in 2009 and we’ve been attending LBC ever since.

I’m super excited to be working with the kids & families at LBC. It’s an exciting ministry and it’s so great to see lives changed as kids & families experience God’s love. I believe that each child, whatever their abilities, is unique and created by God for His glory & purpose.

Cassidy Vandop

Associate Children’s Director

I began attending LBC’s kid’s programs in elementary school and continued through until I finished with LBC Youth when I graduated high school. I was baptized at LBC in 2014. I have been volunteering in children and youth ministries at LBC for the past 5 years and I have been a summer intern 4 times. I love working with kids and youth and God has taught me many things through them.

After graduating high school, I started attending Kwantlen Polytechnic University where I am now working on my BA in History. Once I am finished my BA, I plan on working towards a B.Ed to become a teacher.

I am very excited to continue working with the children and families at LBC. I am looking forward to seeing what God continues do in and through the children and families of LBC.

Angela Mathews

Children’s Director

(Maternity Leave)

I am so excited to see what God has in store in this leg of my journey here at Ladner Baptist Church. I worked previously at Cedar Grove Baptist in Surrey where I started as a Children’s Ministry Intern in 2003. When I left there 9 years later I was the Youth Pastor to a great group of youth. I have my BA in Biblical Studies as well as Psychology as well as a Certificate in the Human Services Program from Trinity Western University.

I married my husband Nathan in October of 2011. We are parents of Josiah, 2, and baby Hannah, born in June 2019. We enjoy sports, playing board games, hanging out with friends, drinking tea and Biblical Studies. In my spare time I have come to enjoy cooking and photography as well. We are excited to serve here in Ladner and get to know the community.

I am passionate about working with young people and families. My heart is to see young people know that God has an awesome plan for their lives even while they are young. I love walking alongside families and seeing Jesus do awesome things in and through them.
