It is a privilege to be leading at LBC with a team of very gifted people in this interim season as the search for a new full-time lead pastor is underway. I am passionate about contextualizing scripture so that people can understand the truth of God’s word through preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God.
Before stepping into the role of part-time Assistant Pastor, I led our youth ministry as Youth Director for six years, which was a great experience of helping to develop new young leaders in their discipleship journey. I continue to co-lead and teach the Counselor in Training program at Camp Qwanoes, which has been a privilege since 2018. Previously, I was the Festival Manager for Creation Festivals from 2010 to 2016.
My undergrad studies were in the field of Criminology and Law, and I received a Master of Divinity degree from Northwest Seminaries after completing the Immerse Program on the Lead Pastor track. I am currently completing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Ministry Leadership at a university in the United States.
I am confident that the community of people at LBC will continue to live out our vision: Everyone together – belonging, growing, and serving.
After I came to know Jesus in the summer of 2011, I searched for a church and quickly became a part of the family at Ladner Baptist Church. I felt deeply loved in this community and wanted to extend that to the lives of the youth in our community. Since then, I have served as a youth leader while also having served as the youth intern from 2012-2014.
In 2016, I got an opportunity to serve skateboarders across Metro Vancouver as the Regional Director for Skatelife and have had a blast training leaders, working with churches, sharing the gospel with teens, and seeing skateboarders authentically loved. I have an amazing wife and best friend, Rylie who married me in 2015 and has joined me in this crazy journey of serving skateboarders.
I’m currently completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Apologetics. I have a huge passion for teenagers, for good answers to good questions, and to see all types of people know Jesus deeply- to be confident in his love, have real rest in his grace, and receive power through his Spirit to reflect that love to the world around them.
My family and I made Ladner Baptist Church our home when we emigrated to Canada from Bogota, Colombia in 1999. It has been my privilege to be part of the staff team here since August 2011. My husband Eric and I have two sons – Andrew is married to Liz and they have two daughters, Lucy and Grace, and Tim is married to Rebekah, and they have a son, Emmett and a daughter, Audrey. I love my job! My favourite part is connecting with great people of all ages. In our spare time, Eric and I like hanging out with friends, going for walks (but only when the weather is nice), watching British TV shows together, and especially spending as much time as we can with our sons, their sweet wives and our grandbabies.
I started attending LBC as a child. I was baptized and married at LBC. After university & college I began my career in Nuclear Medicine at BC Children’s Hospital. It was there that God stirred a passion within me to work with children. Andrew & I had our 1st child, Hannah, and then we moved out of BC for 7 years. Our other 4 children were born in Iowa (Caleb), Calgary (Luke & Lydia) and our 5th (Joel) was born back in BC ~ a full circle. We came back to BC in 2009 and we’ve been attending LBC ever since.
I’m super excited to be working with the kids & families at LBC. It’s an exciting ministry and it’s so great to see lives changed as kids & families experience God’s love. I believe that each child, whatever their abilities, is unique and created by God for His glory & purpose.
Associate Children’s Director
I began attending LBC’s kid’s programs in elementary school and continued through until I finished with LBC Youth when I graduated high school. I was baptized at LBC in 2014. I have been volunteering in children and youth ministries at LBC for the past 5 years and I have been a summer intern 4 times. I love working with kids and youth and God has taught me many things through them.
After graduating high school, I started attending Kwantlen Polytechnic University where I am now working on my BA in History. Once I am finished my BA, I plan on working towards a B.Ed to become a teacher.
I am very excited to continue working with the children and families at LBC. I am looking forward to seeing what God continues do in and through the children and families of LBC.
I am so excited to see what God has in store in this leg of my journey here at Ladner Baptist Church. I worked previously at Cedar Grove Baptist in Surrey where I started as a Children’s Ministry Intern in 2003. When I left there 9 years later I was the Youth Pastor to a great group of youth. I have my BA in Biblical Studies as well as Psychology as well as a Certificate in the Human Services Program from Trinity Western University.
I married my husband Nathan in October of 2011. We are parents of Josiah, 2, and baby Hannah, born in June 2019. We enjoy sports, playing board games, hanging out with friends, drinking tea and Biblical Studies. In my spare time I have come to enjoy cooking and photography as well. We are excited to serve here in Ladner and get to know the community.
I am passionate about working with young people and families. My heart is to see young people know that God has an awesome plan for their lives even while they are young. I love walking alongside families and seeing Jesus do awesome things in and through them.
Hey, my name is Cody. I grew up in a small city called Quesnel and moved to Surrey in 2011 to attend Pacific Life Bible College, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Leadership. I joined the LBC family in 2016 and started serving in the youth, worship, and young adult ministries.
In 2019 I began pursuing a Master of Divinity through Northwest Baptist Seminary and serving LBC as a Pastoral Student. I currently help oversee community groups, discipleship, and service ministries as well as supporting our community in the areas of music and media.
I’m passionate about seeing lives transformed by the gospel, and the Church rise up to serve as the body of Christ.
